East coast wings was born in 2004 with a simple but powerful mission: to bring the authentic, bold taste of east coast wings to Vienna, VA and the entire United States community. What started as a small family kitchen has grown into a thriving restaurant and catering operation — without ever losing the heart and soul of that original vision.

Our founder, Marcus Thompson, grew up along the Chesapeake coast where wing nights were a weekly tradition. He took those beloved family recipes, refined them with years of culinary expertise, and built East coast wings from the ground up — brick by brick, sauce by sauce.

Today, we serve thousands of satisfied guests every month, but each plate still carries the same care and commitment that Marcus brought to that very first batch in 2004.

How We Got Here

Two decades of growth, flavor, and community. Here are the milestones that shaped East coast wings.

2004

The First Kitchen Opens

Marcus Thompson opens East coast wings in a small 800 sq ft space on Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA. The menu had just 8 items and 5 sauce options — but the lines stretched out the door from day one.

2007

First Expansion

Overwhelming demand led to a full restaurant renovation — tripling our seating capacity and introducing our legendary catering service for corporate events and parties across Northern Virginia.

2010

30 Sauces Milestone

Our signature sauce range hit 30 unique flavors — from classic Buffalo and Honey Garlic to our iconic "Chesapeake Blaze" that won the Washington DC Wings Festival Best Flavor award.

2014

Online Ordering Launches

We launched our first digital ordering platform, making east coast wings accessible to the entire United States metro area. Online orders grew to 40% of total revenue within the first year.

2018

Franchise Program Begins

After years of demand from fans across the US, we launched our franchise program — bringing the East coast wings experience to new communities while maintaining the quality our guests depend on.

2024

Celebrating 20 Years

East coast wings turns 20. We've served over 50,000 guests, trained hundreds of team members, and remain a cornerstone of the Vienna, VA food scene. The best wings are still ahead of us.
